Terms & disclaimer

Version 2.0, last updated 15 August 2026. Part of the legal & compliance pack.

Touch4Safety is extra help only. It is not an emergency service, alarm centre, security guard, medical device or guarantee of any kind, and it does not contact police, ambulance or fire services. Touch4Safety does not in any way take any responsibility or liability for any incident of any kind that could happen. In an emergency, always call your local emergency number — 112 in the EU/EEA, 911 in the US.

What the service does

Touch4Safety helps you tell people you trust that you are safe, ask them to watch over you, share a journey or send an alert. All alerts go to the Safety People you choose. Delivery depends on your device, battery, network coverage, permissions, and third-party email, SMS and push providers — none of which we control.

No responsibility for incidents

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Touch4Safety and its operator accept no responsibility or liability for any incident, accident, injury, illness, death, crime, loss, delay or damage of any kind, whether or not the app worked as expected. This includes missed, late, failed or misdirected alerts, inaccurate or missing location, unavailable service, and any action or inaction by your Safety People or by any authority.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer law in your country.

Your responsibilities

  • Keep your Safety People list and contact details current, and tell them they are listed.
  • Use the service lawfully and never to monitor someone without their knowledge and consent.
  • Do not rely on the app as your only safety measure.
  • You must be 16 or older to hold an account; younger family members are added by a responsible adult.

Plans and payment

The Free plan is free. The Family plan is €9 per month (shown in your local currency where supported), billed through our payment provider, and can be cancelled at any time with effect from the end of the current period. Prices include applicable taxes where required. Lifetime access, where granted by the operator, is personal and non-transferable.

EU/EEA and UK consumers: you have 14 days to withdraw from a new subscription. Because the service starts immediately at your request, you may be charged pro rata for the days used, and the right lapses once the period you paid for has been fully performed. Email us to withdraw.

Acceptable use

  • Never use Touch4Safety to track, monitor or locate a person without their knowledge and freely given consent — covert tracking is illegal in most countries and will end the account.
  • Do not send false alarms, abuse Safety People, or test on real emergency services.
  • Do not attempt to access other users' data, bypass rate limits or security controls, scrape the service, or resell it without a written agreement.
  • You may not use the service where doing so would breach applicable export control or sanctions law.

Organisations and data processing

If you deploy Touch4Safety to protect other people — as an employer, school, care provider or family administrator — you are the data controller for their personal data and our data processing addendum forms part of these terms. You are responsible for informing those people, collecting the consent required in your country, and keeping their contact details accurate.

Availability, changes and termination

We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we will give reasonable notice of material changes to these terms or to a paid plan. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it; if you do not, you can cancel and delete your account at any time from the privacy centre. We may suspend an account immediately for unlawful use, abuse or non-payment.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and the courts of Norway have jurisdiction. This does not remove the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence: if you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, the UK or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer rules, you may also bring proceedings where you live, and you keep every right that cannot be waived by contract. There is no compulsory arbitration and no class-action waiver. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform, and Norwegian consumers the Norwegian Consumer Authority.

Privacy

Data protection and cookies are covered in the privacy, GDPR & cookies notice, and the whole set of documents is collected in the legal & compliance pack.
